-Summary: Categorized Researcher Level II National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT, Paraguay), the areas of research that I develop at CEDIC are framed in Parasitology and Entomology, specifically in human parasitic protozoology and its vectors. In addition, I develop technical and research activities in the area of assisted reproduction in humans and animals. -Summary: Repatriated by Conacyt to develop her scientific activity at CEDIC, one of her functions being to establish and develop a new line of research in Cancer Genomics at the Institution. The Centre has the optimal technology and infrastructure to carry out molecular-genetic and genomic studies and is therefore open to collaborations with multidisciplinary teams to promote this area of cancer. -Summary: Dr. Borges' research area focuses on the study of the venoms produced by the fauna of arachnids and ophidians responsible for accidents in humans in South and Central America and the Caribbean, with the aim of elucidating the structural and functional diversity of their toxins, allowing the design of more effective therapeutic tools for the treatment of poisoned humans and making use of the specificity of their mechanisms of action to build new molecules with antiparasitic and microbicidal activity.
